Art Maui’s mission is to promote, encourage, and recognize excellence in the visual tactile arts in Maui County. We do this by organizing an annual exhibition of juried art works, and through associated educational events such as symposia. In our annual exhibit, we strive to achieve the highest possible standards of excellence and objectivity.
All Maui County resident artists are eligible to enter.
The exhibit usually showcases approximately 100 new works.
Works are selected by jurors for this prestigious exhibition.
The organization is sustained, and the exhibition is made possible, through purchase of artworks by patrons and the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, artist’s entry fees, support from donors and sponsors, and the efforts of hundreds of volunteers.
Art Maui was founded in 1979, and is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, overseen by an all-volunteer board of directors. While our annual exhibition has been held at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center since 1995, we are a separate institution.
