Three Baldwin High School seniors were each awarded a $2000 scholarship to use at the college of their choice to pursue studies in art. The three students are Ellissa Bio, Keisha Mateo, and Alexandra Underwood, and all study with Janet Sato in the Advanced Placement Art Program at Baldwin High School.

The awards were presented on Saturday, April 20th, by Art Maui board of directors president Jefferson Stillwell and scholarship committee chair Janet Allan. The students’ artwork was on display in the Alexa Higashi meeting room at the MACC. Ron Kowalke, juror for Art Maui 2013, selected these students based on their portfolios and applications when he was here April 4-6 to select pieces for Art Maui 2013. Ten students from five high schools on Maui submitted portfolio entries.
